Houston Horizon and the Greater Houston/Gulf Coast community feel extremely fortunate to have been spared the full force of Rita's impact. A huge Texas-size thank-you to everyone who e-mailed and called to see how we fared the storm and asked about ways to support our neighbors from East Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Our Houston members are all safe and had little to no damage at their homes. Our dual members from Beaumont (Spindletop Sound Chorus) are safe but still assessing damage to their homes and community. As with the aftermath of Katrina, we will be doing all we can to help those in need. Our thoughts and prayers are with our neighbors to the East. No one in the Houston area is unaffected by the unprecedented results of the two major hurricanes we have experienced in the past month, but Houstonians and Houston Horizon are up to the challenge of offering all the love and support we can for our neighbors. These have been very trying times for Region 10. But the outpouring of love and support from our sisters-in-harmony from all over the world has helped us realize how fortunate we truly are.

For those wanting information on ways to help, please refer to the links below that will assist you with your decisions. In addition to monetary donations, please remember that your prayers are needed. Never underestimate the power of prayer.

For more information, please e-mail us at houstonhorizon@ureach.com. Again, a heart-felt thank-you for your care and concern.
